Kathy Marie Van Erem, 28, Spiritwood, died today (Saturday) at the farm home of her parents in Spiritwood Township after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 am in St James Catholic Church with Father Jerome Hunkler officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A prayer service is set for Monday at 7 pm in the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Miss Van Erem was born March 11, 1958, in Jamestown, daughter of Victor and Shirley (Wiese) Van Erem. She received her elementary education in Spiritwood school and was graduated from Jamestown High School in 1976. She attended and graduated from Bismarck Junior College in 1978 and worked as a graphic artist for Ray's Printing. She later moved to Minot where she worked for Lowe's Printing for five years when she returned to her home. She was a member of St James Catholic Church.

Survivors include her parents, Victor and Shirley Van Erem, Spiritwood; her paternal grandmother, Mrs Kathryn Van Erem and maternal grandmother, Mrs Christine Wiese, both of Jamestown; two brothers, Dale, Spiritwood, and Jerry, Jamestown; one sister, Mrs Brion Knudsen (Vicki), Marion; three nieces and two nephews.
