THOMAS McGEE
Thomas McGee, 77, of 1309 12 W. Pleasant St., Davenport, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday [February 6, 1957] in Mercy Hospital after an illness of three days.
He had been a resident of Davenport for 4 years. He was born May 5, 1879, in West Branch, Iowa. April 13, 1907, he married Katherine F. Connell in Wilton. Mr. McGee was a retired employee of the Rock Island Arsenal, a member of the Loras Council, Knights of Columbus, no. 532, and the Holy Name Society of Holy Family Church.
Surviving are the widow; four sons, D.L. (Roy) McGee, of Chicago: Bernard F., Arthur T. and Lyle J. McGee , all of Davenport; a daughter, Mrs. Patrick Sage, of Terre Haute, Ind.; 18 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, William McGee of Muscatine, and Daniel, of Lisbon, and two sisters, Miss Minnie McGee and Mrs. Albert Stecher, both of Muscatine.
Funeral services will be held Saturay at 3:30 a.m. in the Halligan Funeral Homea and at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. today in the funeral home. (Davenport Democrat, Davenport, IA, February 8, 1957)
