"Probably resided first in Adams, Massachusetts, and soon removed to Cambridge, Vermont; a year later in Castleton, Vermont and in 1790 removed to Farmington, New York where he joined Friends from Berkshire County, Massachusetts who settled there in 1789. (Gazetteer of N.Y., 1860, French, p. 469); the principal quarries at Ridgeway, near Medina, on Erie Canal, were owned by him and John Ryan (ibid, p. 515)."
