Survivors include: three sons, Tom (Lori) Ames of Catlin, Mark (Peggy) Ames of Danville, and David (Laurie) Ames of Danville; three daughters, Donna (Ed) Wallis of Decatur, Marilyn (Brewster) Coburn of Palomento, Fla., and Rose (Jim) Watson of Tilton; two brothers, Pearl Ames of Danville and John Ames of Missouri; one sister, Dorothy (Robert) Kruger of Danville; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
His parents, one son, Rusty Ames, four brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, preceded him in death.
He was an assistant fire chief of the Lynch Fire Department, where he served for 20 years.
