Sister Polkinghorn was Born in Gwinear, Cornwall, Eng. in 1856, she came to America and settled in Grass Valley, Cal., July 6, 1878, where she resided to the time of her death, she was converted in her early youth. Soon after arriving in Grass Valley, she united with our church -- letter, and has ever since continued a member. She died triumphant after a brief illness in the blessed reasurance and full faith of the Saviour which she had embraced so early in her life, and which brings victory over death.
There is also something engraved on the base of the headstone, that is somewhat difficult to decipher.
The columnar style headstone bears the names of:
