Cut From Paring Knife Results In Death
Delroy, Sept. 19.—Mrs. Amanda Dehoff, widow of the late Alexander Dehoff, died at 8:35 a. m., today at the residence of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Abel, York R. D. 3, near here. Death was due to blood poisoning. She was aged 81 years, 1 month and 13 days. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Abel, with whom she resided, one son: Paul Dehoff, Hallam; one brother, Alvin Frey, York, and five grandchildren.
About ten days ago, while doing housework, Mrs. Dehoff cut her hand with a paring knife. The injury was not given medical attention until four days later, when Dr. A. A. Thorum, of Hallam, was summoned. This morning her condition became worse and Dr. Thorum was again called in, but Mrs. Dehoff died a few minutes after the physician arrived.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a. m., from the late home, near here, with further obsequies at Canadochly Reformed church, this place. Interment will be made in Canadochly cemetery. Funeral Directors Edward Etzweiler and son, Wrightsville, have charge of arrangements.
