Genealogical Society Rockingham Stokes member, Bert Price, of Rockingham County, has recently found these two cemeteries located northeast of Stoneville off of Taylor Rd. Both cemeteries are on the property of Ramona Stanford Smith (Mrs. Robert H. Smith) who lives at 1078 Taylor Rd. which is between the Rock Quarry and Price Grange Rd. The first cemetery is that of Patrick Henry Price and his two wives. Found 24 Feb 2013.
Patrick H. Price was the son of William H. & Elizabeth Roberts Price. He was age 34 when he enlisted as a private for the army 2 Jul 1862 and was discharged 14 Feb 1863 by reason of "phthisis puImonal". His first wife was Nancy C. Smith, daughter of John and Elizabeth Jamison Smith. They married in 1852 and had at least seven children. After her death in 1875 he married Nannie Carolina Hopper, daughter of Martin & Unity Hopper, 7 Oct 1875. They had 5 children.
