All our family called him Tom,he was married to my oldest sister Shirley. He was her first husband. He owned a Gas Station with a friend of his , they called it Tom and Jerry's like the cartoon. Every time we needed something done to our cars he would help out alot .
Tom was a tall big bear of a man but he ,as I knew him, was a gentleman and a gentle man. Tom was the son of Paul and Cora (Lamkin) Pannett who lived in Perry County Indiana. And Paul Davis Pannett Divorced Cora sometime in their early marriage and then married a second time to Lura, Lura E Pannette .
Tom and Shirley had 5 children, Jeanna, Sharon, Mary , Tommy and Doug. When I was twelve and thirteen I would go over their house and babysit for them. Tom would take Shirley to the horse races and baseball games and different places.I would alot of times go over to visit with them all on the weekends when I wasnt babysitting.
He had 2 open heart surgeries the first one they cleaned his mitro valve and the second surgery they put a plastic mytrol in . But he was supposed to have a third one and never made it he passed away. When we went up to Michigan to visit them we had our first daughter,Michelle with us and she was around 3 or 4 at the time and she noticed his scar on his chest , and she asked him what made it , he told her that a little girl broke his heart at one time and the doctors had to go in and fix it. And when he said that our daughter started to cry she was always so sensitive minded to people, and he finally told her what really did happen and she seemed to understand at that age.
He loved playing cards a game called Eucre, when all the family got together for partes and Barbeques and he and our sis Shirley, our grandparents, and dad and aunts and uncles and our other brotherinlaw Neil Robert Selley, Srwould play also. He was the type of person who would do anything he could for people , and give the shirt off his back.
Love ya Tom I will see you again in the hereafter. Some of Toms relatives and Ancestors spell their names Pannette and Pannett.
Tom had a brother who passed this year 2007 , his name isDoug Pannett.

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.

A Native American Prayer
I give you this one thought to keep -
I am with you still - I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the sweet uplifting rush,
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone -
I am with you still in each new dawn.
