The Holden Progress-May 19, 1910
Died at his home in the east part of town, May 16, 1910, Thomas C. Paul aged 72 years. In the death of Mr. Paul probably passed away the oldest native born citizen in the township, he having been born a few miles north of town and having lived continually in the township all this time, with the exception of the few years he served as a soldier, having been a member of the First Missouri Field Artillery during the civil war and participated in many of the engagements that were fought in this state and Arkansas. He leaves three children to mourn his loss: William, Miles and Mrs. Bud Williams. His wife died about 10 years ago.

The Journal-Democrat (Warrensburg, MO) Friday, May 20, 1910 (Kingsville column)
The funeral services of Thomas Carl Paul were held at the M. E. church Tuesday at two o'clock by Rev. Hill. Mr. Paul was born in this county January 10, 1838, and has been a resident of Kingsville the greater part of his life. He was married to Mary Agnes Seybold, who preceded him to the world beyond about 16 years ago. Two sons and a daughter survive these parents, all of whom reside in the vicinity of Kingsville. Mr. Paul bore a part in the war of the sixties, on the union side, as a private in the state militia cavalry. We extend our deep sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
