Funeral services for Mary Jewell Howell Moore, 87, of Rosenberg, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at First United Methodist Church in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Rev. Jim McConnell will officiate the services. Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., in Rosenberg.

Moore, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, in Richmond. Moore was born Aug. 23, 1914, in Bell County, Texas, to Zena and Lillie Stone Howell.

Moore was a member of United Methodist Women for 51 years. She also belonged to the Senior Citizen 49er's Group.

She was a very loving Mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family. Her interests were cooking, quilting, and playing dominoes. She touched many lives and was loved by all who knew her. Her simple life and memory will remain forever in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Moore; son, Robert Jewell Moore; daughters, Vivian Marie Moore and Mary Dean Moore; son-in-law, Raymond E. Moore III; her parents; brothers, Leo, Olan, Earl, Charles, Preston and Ray Howell; and sister, Pearl Howell.

She is survived by her son, John L. Moore, Sr. and his wife, Carol, of Rosenberg; grandchildren, Raymond E. Moore III, Robert Jewell Tatum, Neesa Switalski and her husband, Dan, John L. Moore Jr. and his wife, Shelia, and Ann Marie Moore; a great-grandchild, Stephanie Moore; great step grandchildren, Brian and Brad Switalski; sisters-in-law, Julia Howell of Rosenberg, Vera Williams of Austin, and Doris Meisner of Temple; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Mary White Dalton, Taylor Cotton, Juliane Phelps, Edna Janik, Patsy Anderson, and Alma Webb; and caretaker, Lupe Zamadio.

Pallbearers will be Raymond E. Moore IV, John L. Moore Jr., Dan Switalski, Robert Jewell Tatum, Marion Talasek, and Preston Howell. Honorary pallbearer is Johnnye Howell.

Memorials may be made in her memory to the First United Methodist Church of Rosenberg.
