Mrs. Louise Evelyn Abbott Gurgainous, age 70, of Rose Hill died Friday, January 30, 2004, at the Brian Center, Wallace.
She was born June 20, 1933, in Pender County, and was the daughter of the late Johnny James and Mildred George Abbott. She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Gurgainous; and brothers, Tommy Abbott, Bobby Abbott and John Abbott.

She was a member of Pike Rocky Point Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-one years, Otis Gurgainous of the home; children, Jerry Gurgainous and wife Phyllis of Mt Olive, Mike Gurgainous of Burgaw, Susan Myers and husband Billy of Millers Creek, Sheri Brooks and husband Wayne of Magnolia, Ray Gurgainous and wife Peggy of Magnolia, and Maj. Larry Kim Gurgainous, USAF and wife Amy of Las Vegas, NV; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Gurgainous of Burgaw; ten grandchildren; sister, Shirley Wilson and husband Woody of Southport; and brother, Lawrence Abbott and wife Linda of Wilmington.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Wallace Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Ray Mendenhall officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.
