Adah McMurry Bridges Simpson, 89, of Caldwell, formerly of Marble Falls, died in Caldwell Friday, May 31, 2013. The family will celebrate her life with a memorial service at a later date.
Simpson was born July 24, 1923 in Springfield, Tenn., to parents Frank Clayton Bridges Sr. and Rebecca Florence Smith Bridges. At the age of ten, she lost both of her parents, and was raised by her Uncle Joe and Aunt Ethel. She married Wilbert Andre Simpson February 28, 1943, in Tullahoma, TN.
Simpson is preceded in death by her parents, her uncle Joe Latham and her aunt Ethel Bridges Latham her surrogate parents, her husband of 52 years Wilbert Simpson, a son Joseph Simpson, a brother and sister-in-law Frank and Leslie "Boogie" Bridges, a niece Becky Goodin, and a nephew Cully Goodi, Jr.
Adah was a military wife who lived in many places throughout the United States and abroad, until the retirement of her husband in 1968. They were longtime residents of Marble Falls (Sandy Harbor), where Mrs. Simpson devoted much of her time to charitable activities.
She is survived by a son Lance Simpson of Moorestown, N.J., a daughter and son-in-law Lisette Simpson Youree and husband Joe of Caldwell, a granddaughter Christina Youree and husband John Neal of Deanville, a grandson Jereme Youree of Caldwell and four great grandchildren Callie & Kay Hardin of Deanville and Brayden and Railyn Youree of Cameron, numerous great nieces, great nephews, and other relatives.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home, Caldwell.
