Gustav Leonard Isaacson, later Leonard George, immigrated to the U. S. from Sweden, arriving in Baltimore, Maryland in
1888. He arrived in Aberdeen in 1900 and on 16 Feb. 1906, married his wife, Aurilla C. Baker.
He established a logging and mill supply company, "L.G.Isaacson., in 1911, along with his brother, Robert. Robert later established his own company in 1920.
Leonard opened two more stores with Aurilla's brother, Ray, in Oregon and Raymond, Washington but he had to close them during the Depression. After WWII, his son Charles(Chuck)joined the business.
Leonard passed away at age 84, but the company that he established is still a well known family business.
