Alfred "Fritz" Ernest Baumgart
Alfred "Fritz" Ernest Baumgart, age 85, of Munson, formerly of Euclid, died April 12, 2009, at his home. He was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Cleveland. Mr. Baumgart worked for General Motors, Fisher Body Division for 38 years, as manager of production and control. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Pacific during World War II.
After retirement he formed Fritz Enterprises creating several homemade products and dealing in coins, silver and gold. Fritz was an avid gardener with his wife Ruth selling much of his homegrown produce. His later years were spent caring for his wife of 62 years and family.
Survivors are his wife, Ruth (nee Schmidt); sons, Keith and Wayne; daughter-in-law, Margaret (nee Howell); grandson, Devin (wife, Heidi nee Ludwick) of Avon Lake; granddaughter, Corey; and many nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Augusta Baumgart; brother, William; sister, Lydia; and another brother and sister who died early in life. Memorial Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 24th, at Peace Lutheran Church, 12686 Bass Lake Road, Chardon. Pastor Curtis May will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, Ohio.
