Ruth Elizabeth Strickland of Grandy died July 5. Ruth was born on Dec. 28, 1927 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Frank and Ruth Estelle Kidwell.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Strickland and wife Laura. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Terri Strickland; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Before her retirement Ruth worked for the federal government as a GSA Contracting Officer. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Strickland, her parents, son, David Strickland, sister, Mildred Souder, brother, Frank Kidwell and her granddaughter, Katie.
There will be a graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, MD at 10:30 a.m. on July 11. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
