John M. "Lester" Comer, 80, of Whiteford, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 1974 at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, following a short illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Gracie Clyde Comer.
He had resided in the Flintville Road, Whiteford area for the past 25 years and was a retired employee of Aberdeen Proving Ground. He was an Army veteran of World War I, a member of Franklin Baptist Church, and a member of World War I Veterans Barracks 428.
His wife is the only survivor.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. at Franklin Baptist Church with the retired pastor, the Rev. Walter G. Powers and the current minister, the Rev. Virgil Cox officiating. Interment was in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers were Jack Hale, Swanson Hale, Rupert Cullum, Roy E. Parks, Steve Parks, and Wilbert Delp. Services were under the direction of the Harkins Funeral Home in Delta, Pa.
