Springfield, MA - Barbara (Albro) Griffin, 96, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, at her residence at Reeds Landing. Born on September 24, 1915, in Springfield, MA, a daughter of the late Robert and Jean (Oliphant) Albro, she was a longtime resident of East Longmeadow. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Griffin who passed away in 2003. She was a graduate of Classical High School in Springfield. Barbara was a longtime member of First Congregational Church in East Longmeadow and served on the Women's Fellowship Board for many years. She was a member of Baystate Medical Auxiliary, a 30 year volunteer at Baystate Medical Center and also the former Wesson Women's Hospital. Barbara was a member of Mercy Warren Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her two loving and grateful sons, Charles "Skip" Griffin and his wife, Rita, of Pottstown, PA, and David K. Griffin and his wife Sharon, of Staunton, VA; her twin sister, Betty A. Gray of Reeds Landing and 3 grandsons, Jason C., Matthew R., and Peter D. Griffin. Funeral services for Barbara will be held on Thursday, July 19, at First Congregational Church, East Longmeadow, at 11:30 a.m., with a reception following. A private burial service will take place at New Cemetery in Southwick.
