Also surviving are two sons, Thomas (La Donna) Funk and John Funk; one daughter, Elizabeth Funk; two brothers, Paul E. (Laura) Funk and Donald E. (Leona) Funk; one sister, Gertrude E. Hale; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 and the U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1967.
