John William Funk, 89, was the son of John Clement and Blanche Marie Schmelzer Funk. He married Catherine Louise Delaney on Sept. 22, 1956 in Urbana. She survives.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patti Lynn, and one brother, Richard E.
Also surviving are two sons, Thomas (La Donna) Funk and John Funk; one daughter, Elizabeth Funk; two brothers, Paul E. (Laura) Funk and Donald E. (Leona) Funk; one sister, Gertrude E. Hale; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 and the U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1967.
