Mrs. Charlotte Rogers, 95, of Fort Gibson, passed away Monday, September 9, 1996, at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Calvary Faith Church, Fort Gibson, with Reverend Don Reed officiating and assisted by Reverend Harry J. Ford. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery in Fort Gibson with Robert Benge, John Henry Ford, Jerry Ford, Charles Rhyne, Jack Armstrong, and Jerry Hewitt serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Mr. and Mrs. Leon Steveson, Dave Blakeburn, Clellan Hobbs and Scott Adkins.

Mrs. Rogers was born October 1, 1900, in Fort Gibson which at the time was Indian Territory. She was the daughter of Jess and Maggie (Benge) McLain. On June 29, 1922, she married Lewis B. Rogers and this marriage lasted for thirty-five years until his death on August 20, 1957. Mrs. Rogers had been employed with the U.S. Postal Service for twenty four years before retiring.

Survivors include one son, Paul Rogers of Fort Gibson; a grandson, Bobby Joe Walker of Fort Gibson; two great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Misty Walker of Joplin, Missouri; seven nieces, Nancy Harris of Rosedale, Calif., Marie Fish of Long Beach, Ca., Alberta Woodhouses of Roll, Arizona, Gayle Hanselman of Oklahoma City, Nancy Smith, Evelyn Delcour, and Lois all of Fort Gibson; two nephews, Luther McLain of Shola, Arizona, and Howard McLain of Muskogee.

The family has entrusted Bradley Funeral Service with the arrangements.
