Clinton - Mrs. Dora Myrle Pope Thornton Lockerman, 94 of 501 Cutchin St., died in Sampson Regional Medical center Saturday June 19, 2013.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at First Baptist Church with Rev Charles Allard officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery.
Born in 1918 in Duplin County, Mrs. Lockerman was the daughter of the late Ellie Randolph and Annie Williams Pope. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ann Thornton Wagner & husband, Nicholas of Raleigh. Son, Gerald Thornton wife, Katrina of Raleigh. Sister, Fay Finger of Kings Mountain. Two Step-sons, Ted Lockerman & wife, Alice of Clinton, Jones Lockerman & wife, Deoris of Chadborn. Nine grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William "Bill" Thornton and her second husband, Perry B. Lockerman. Two sisters, Elmer Drew and Shirley Rudy. Two brothers, Dennis Pope and Bromley Pope.
