Burial was in Slider [sic Silver] Cross Cemetery in Tallulah.
Mrs. Payne died Sunday at the Madison Parish Hospital after a short illness.
Survivors include a son, John William Payne of Dallas, Tex.; and three grandchildren.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and a longtime resident of Tallulah. She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. E. Otis Edgerton.
Pallbearers were Glenn Whetstone, Henry Sevier Jr., Edgar Lancaster Jr., Elmer Neill, Robert Holstead, J. C. Sherwin, Maxwell Yerger and Judge Cliff Adams.
