Mr. Edgerton was born Nov. 17, 1912, in Arcadia. He formerly owned a petroleum products distributorship and later was an Equitable Life Insurance representative, retiring in 1988.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lacey Craig Regenold Edgerton, native of Memphis, Tenn., and Dr. Edwin Otis Edgerton, native of Natchitoches Parish; and a sister, Katherine Edgerton Payne.
He attended Tulane University and LSU and was active in many civic, business, fraternal, social and government affairs during his early years. He was a photographer, big game hunter, antique collector and dealer and was an extensive international traveler.
Mr. Edgerton is survived by former wife, Theotise Couvillon "Titter" Edgerton, Alexandria; a brother, Fred R. Edgerton, Alexandria; two sons, Dr. Donald G. Edgerton, Alexandria, and Dr. Edwin Otis Edgerton III, West Monroe; two daughters, Lacey Edgerton McClung, Pineville, and Ann Edgerton Darling, Boca Raton, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be a Hixson Brothers Inc, Alexandria, 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. David Boothe of Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Pineville.
