William McCoy was the son of William and Sarah James McCoy, and grandson of John and Margaret Jackson McCoy, and John and Pernina Dean James. He was a twin to Andrew. His other siblings were John Jackson "Polite John," Malinda Margaret, Tamsey Elizabeth, Pleasant P., Examinnie, Margaret Ann, Sarah Florence, Samuel David, and Miranda Caroline. He is shown in the 1850 census, but is believed to have died soon after.

Gravesite Details
Although there is no marker now, a family member remembers that there were at one time three markers with the name William McCoy on them. It is believed that one was that of Andrew's twin who died about 1850. The family lived nearby.
