Sarah was the daughter of John McGee and Mary (Youngman) McGee. She was born in Liberty Township of Tipton County, Indiana. She married Marion Sylvester Cox in the year 1869. At the time of her passing she was survived by Frank, Eva Carroll, Mrs. C.B. Marsh, Mrs. E.A. Stillwell, and one brother, Joseph McGee, of Lebanon, Indiana.
