DEAN SILVERS
Dean Frank Silvers of Morganton died April 24 in a McDowell County hospital. He was 76.
A native of Madison County, he had lived in McDowell County for a number of years. He was a son of the late John and Mary Darnell Silvers and the husband of the late Valerie Elizabeth Suttles Silvers. He was a member of the North Laurel Baptist Church in Valdese. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are five sons, Clyde Silves of Dandridge, Tenn., Glenn Silvers of Spruce Pine, Ronald Silvers of Morganton, Eddie Silvers of Drexel, Perry Silvers of Morganton; three daughters, Shirley Plemmons of Morganton, Wilma Fisher of Marshall, Darlene Carswell of Morganton; two sisters, Vivian Keener Moore of Spring Creek and Pearl Goforth of Hot Springs; one brother; Ernest Silvers of Williamsburg, VA; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Revs. Buddy Sizemore and Sherman Tweed. Burial was in the church cemetery.
