Mrs. Clara Turley, 75, died at her home, 309 West Fourteenth, Sunday night at 7:30 after an illness of a year and a half; the funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Criswell Funeral Chapel, Rev. Chester Mason officiating ; burial in Rosedale Cemetery.


Pallbearers will be W.P. Lee, A.M. Russell, Claude Bobbitt, Frank Meaders, J.H. Emry and Charles T. Bates.


Surviving are the husband, John M. Turley; two daughters, Mrs. Nora Haskins of Ada and Mrs. Pearl Hughes of Seminole; four sons: W.E. and J.M. Turkey, Jr., of Ada, C.L. of Madill and Champ Turley of Amarillo, Texas; seven grandchildren one great grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Gibson, Littlefield, Texas.

The first born of three daughters born to John & Phoebe.

She also had one half sister and four half brothers,her mother being widowed prior to her marriage to John Brown.


She married John McClellan Turley in 1888. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 2 daughters. She lived in Township 5 North, Choctaw Nation Reservation, Pushmataha, Oklahoma, United States in 1900 and Chickasaw Township, Pontotoc, Oklahoma, United States in 1940. She died on 8 August 1948, in Ada, Pontotoc, Oklahoma, United States, at the age of 75, and was buried in Ada, Pontotoc, Oklahoma, United States
