Daughter of William Charles Braisted and Ida Sabrina Brown, Grace was the second wife of Joseph L. Simpson whom she married 1 Oct 1913 in Reber, Essex Co., NY. They were the parents of of three known children: Grace Ida, Ralph William and Lloyd.

Mrs. Grace Ida [sic] Simpson of 54 Charlotte St. died Friday, Sept. 4, 1959 at the age of 72. She was the widow of Joseph Simpson.
Mrs. Simpson, nee Grace Ida [sic] Braisted, was born at Castleton, Vt., on Dec. 8, 1886, a daughter of William C. and Ida Brown Braisted.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Garfield [Grace] Barrette and two sons, Ralph W. Simpson and Lloyd J. Simpson, all of Plattsburgh; one step-daughter, Mrs. Mary Abate of Hartford, Conn.; a step-son, Wesley L. Simpson of Whallonsburg, and one brother, Harry Braisted, also of Whallonsburg.
Also surviving are 18? grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The body is at Brown's Funeral Home, where visiting hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity-Episcopal Church Monday morning at 10, preceded by a 9:30 prayer at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
