Funeral service will be at 10:00AM, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Laurel Land Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Worth, Texas, with Rev. Bill Warren and Rev. Rubin Martinez officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Land Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta, Texas.
Mr. Davis will lie in state from Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas until time of service on Wednesday.
Mr. Davis was born on August 22, 1929, in Clay County, Texas to Lewis Newburn and Lura Lee (Gilmore) Davis. He served his country in the US Army and married Mary "Catherine" Avant on October 23, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. Davis was a retired supervisor for Dairy Pak where he worked for 35 years.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Albert Davis; one sister, Lois Moore.
Survivors include his wife Catherine Davis of Arlington, Texas; one daughter, Connie Sue O'Daniel and husband Jim of Arlington, Texas; one son, Wayne Leon Davis and wife Wanda of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Millie "Aline" Akin and husband Carl of Hewett, Texas, Patsy Lou Fuller and husband Gerald of Wichita Falls, Texas and Dorothy May Simpson of Henrietta, Texas; three brothers, John "Frank" Davis and wife Bettie of Amarillo, Texas, George Melvin Davis and wife Ann of Henrietta, Texas and Doyle Ray Davis and wife Mollie of Henrietta, Texas; three grandchildren.
The family will be at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas on Tuesday evening from 6:00PM-8:00PM.
