Son of A. Haywood and Annie Lenore Reinicker Alderman. Husband of Elizabeth G. Alderman. Haywood was shown in the 1910 census as being a boarder on S. Main St. in High Point, NC. He was an electrical engineer. By 1930, he was living in Brooklyn (Kings Co.) New York with his wife, Elizabeth, and he was still an electrical engineer.

He was the brother of Charles F. Alderman. He died in his sleep, at his home at 722 Westminster Rd. in Brooklyn, and his funeral was held at St. Simon's Church in Brooklyn. His brother and wife accompanied his body back to Greensboro where another service was held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greensboro.
