Went by name of Haywood. Son of William Franklin and Mariah Alderman. Was first married to Annie Lenora Reinicker of Baltimore, Md. who died in 1888. (They had sons Haywood L. and Charles, and an infant daughter who died in 1888 at nearly a year of age.) In 1894, he married Leona Brooks in Guilford Co. Haywood was shown to be a clerk in a dry goods store in the 1880 census. In 1920, when he was ca. 60 years old, he was a cashier in a bank.
