WORLD WAR VETERAN BURIED IN RICHFIELD

Impressive funeral services were held in the Third ward chapel Wednesday afternoon over the remains of Elof Marion Greco, a former Richfieldian and World War veteran, who died at Burley, Idaho, Sunday, June 13. Bishop H.J. Hansen officiated at the services. The opening song, "Jesus Lover of My Soul," was sung by a quartet. P.C. Peterson offered the invocation. Musical numbers included a vocal solo, "My Faith in Thee,: by Lamont Beutler; a violin solo, "Cavatina," by Maxine Erickson, and a vocal solo, "Journey's End," by Lanna Robinson.

The speakers, G.W. Coons, Jas, M. Peterson and Bishop H.J. Hansen, referred to his generally commendable character, his active service in the world war, and offered consolation to the many friends and relatives who are left to mourn his demise.

Charles L. Ogden pronounced the benediction, and the grave in the city cemetery wad dedicated by L.P. Hansen.

Floral offerings in profusion decked the bier, and a squad of American Legion members as military escorts formed in tow ranks at the entrance as the casket was borne from the chapel, and again, lead the procession from the gates of the cemetery to the gave, over which a military salute was fired and taps sounded.

Richfield lodge No. 29, I.O.O.F. sent a large delegation to the services.

Elof M. Greco was born in Richfield, November 8, 1893, a son of Peter S. and Caroline S. Hansen Greco. He lived in Richfield until at the age of twenty-one, when he went to Bingham to work, remaining there until April 9, 1918, at which time he volunteered as a sheet metal worker in the aviation corps. While in the aviation corps he served as corporal and was later promoted to sergeant. He received his honorable discharge July 3, 1919, and on his return home went to Idaho where he worked on a farm. While in active service in the army he was in three aeroplane wrecks
and it was from illness resulting from injuries and exposure while in the service that he passed away, June 13.

He is survived by his father, now living in Delco, Idaho, and the following brothers and sisters; John Greco of Burley, Idaho; Dearel Greco of Rupert, Idaho; Mrs. Margaret (Don) Hodges and Mrs. Lillian McGary both of Garfied; Mrs. Sophia Anderson of Richfield, and Richard, Eda and Leola Greco of Delco, Idaho.

Memorial services for the deceased were held at Burley, Idaho, Tuesday, June 15, under the auspices of the L.D.S. church, the Odd Fellows and American Legion Assisting.
