Jennie Pasanac, 93, of Springdale Borough, died peacefully Thursday, June 20, 2013, with her loving son, Richard, at her side. She was born May 6, 1920, in New Kensington, to the late Peter and Anna Gan Matwiejew. Mrs. Pasanac was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church of New Kensington. She worked at Simplicity Patterns, Este Organ and was head cashier at Montgomery Ward, when it was located in New Kensington. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Besides her son, Richard L. Pasanac, with whom she lived, and his fiancee, Jo Ann Abraham, she is survived by her other son, David (Yvonne) Pasanac, of Plum Borough, and her daughter, Jacqueline (John) Jamieson, of Allison Park; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Pasanac, who died in October of 1987; brother, Stanley Matwiejew; and sisters, Rose Ann Albert, Valeria Helen "Violet" Grden, Elizabeth Bernice Kowalski and Stefania "Stella" Baker. Viewing will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a funeral outside of Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday.
