Jeremiah M. Hinkel passed away at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Rebecca Weiser, 809 Douglas st., aged 50 years, 10 months and 23 days.
Ten years ago deceased sustained a fractured skull at the Reading Railway locomotive shops, which was caused by a fall. His injuries contributed to his demise.
Mr. Hinkel was an active member of the Leesport Reformed Church, Foresters of America, Hampden Fire Company, Veteran Volunteer Fireman's Association and the Mountain Spring Association. In politics he was a Republican.
He was born in Leesport and came to Reading 30 years ago. He was a son of the late Jacob and Sarah (nee Barlet) Hinkel. Deceased never married.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Ohlinger, Mrs. Anna Faust and Mrs. Rebecca Weiser with whom he resided.
