Troy V. Braswell, Sr.
May 18, 1924 - June 24, 2005
Troy Braswell passed away June 24, 2005 at Kern Valley Hospital after a long illness. Troy was born in Drew, Miss., and loved his life on the farm. He served in the Navy Seabees during World War II, serving on the islands of Saipan and Tinian.
Troy and Pauline moved to California in 1952 and began their career in the Schwinn bicycle business. They owned three stores during their 30 years in business, and retired to the Kern River Valley in 1986. When there was a community need, Troy was always there to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by his friends at Rotary, where he was a member for 50 years.
He is survived by Pauline, his wife of 63 years; son Troy, Jr. and his wife Ruth. He also had a son, Edward, and daughter, Linda, who preceded him in death. He is also survived by his grandchildren Troy III, Lawrence, Damon, Terry, Matthew, Tiffani and Shiloh. He also cherished his seven great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 29, at Sierra Mortuary at 11 a.m. Interment will be held June 30 at Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, Calif.
Services were entrusted to Sierra Mortuary and Funeral Home.
