Royal Oak: Margaret Allen Scott Swan passed away peacefully in her home on November 16, 2011. She was 92.
Born November 10, 1919 in Hubbard Texas, she was the daughter of the late James and Pearl Speaker Scott.
Following graduation from Hubbard High School in 1937, she attended Port Arthur College in Fort Arthur, TX, graduating in 1938.
On September 13, 1941, she married Carl Swan. He passed away in 2000.
She was a member of Christ Church, St. Michaels, where she was a member of the Episcopal Church Women, the Women's Club of St. Michaels, she was a volunteer for St. Michaels Community Center and a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Hubbard, TX.
For the majority of her life she was a homemaker and in her spare time enjoyed playing bridge and golf. She is survived by two daughters: Elizabeth Snively, Hunting IN, and Leslie (Tom) Stevenson, Easton, MD; a son: Jim (Kevin) Swan, of Lewisville TX; and a sister Tris Speaker Scott, of Hubbard TX. Survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sisters: Virginia Linder and Gypsy Riddle; a brother, James W. Scott
Memorial services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, St. Michaels, on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. Private burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Hubbard, TX.
Memorial donations may be made to Talbot Hospice Foundation 546 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD, Christ Church St. Michaels, 103 Willow Street, PO Box S, St. Michaels, MD 21663 and/or St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Hubbard, TX 76648
