When Frank Charles Penfold was born on September 10, 1870, in Wheatland, Iowa, his father, James, was 20 and his mother, Emily (Stevenson) Penfold was just 19. He married his childhood schoolmate and sweetheart, Della Eliza Teagarden on February 14, 1892, in Goodland, Kansas. They had nine children in 19 years. Mr. Penfold was a prominent farmer and stockman of Fort Lupton, Colorado, On 12 Oct. 1923, Frank Penfold won the Castle Rock State Bank special of $12.50 for best Hoistein Cow in the Douglas County Fair in Douglas County, Colorado. He was also a well known and influential business man being one of the directors of the board for Platte Valley State Bank, He died on March 10, 1939, at his brother-in-laws house Warren H. Teagarden, in Boulder, Colorado, at the age of 68, Mr. Penfold will surely be missed.
