Born July 11, 1925 in Wewoka, OK, passed away June 8, 2013 in Sacramento, CA, at the age of 87.
Chuck grew up in Ada, OK, and moved to California with his family after graduating from high school. He served three years in the Navy during World War II. He worked for a meat packing plant in Madera, CA and for Montgomery Ward in Alameda, CA before joining Raley's in 1956. He retired from Raley' as CEO in 1998 at age 72, after 42 years, but remained on the Board of Directors for several more years.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances (Flake), his two daughters, Sandy Blymyer (Bob) of Sacramento and Dianna Krise (Rob) of Arizona and three grandchildren, Brandon Blymyer and Stephanie and Robbie Krise. He is also survived by two brothers, Gene and Ted. He was preceded in death by his father Roy, mother Dessie, sister Leona and brothers Murry, Earl, Bob and Ken.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 2:00pm, at First Baptist Church of Elk Grove, 8939 East Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove CA. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Chuck's name may be made to Food For Families, P.O. Box 15618, Sacramento, CA 95852 or Collings Teen Center, P.O. Box 156, West Sacramento, CA 95691.
