Many words describe Mable Kay, a beloved daughter, loyal sister, loving wife, devoted mother, awesome grandmother, and true friend. The one word that can best describe Mable Kay at this time is reunited, reunited with her son Bruce. On June 7, 2013 she was welcomed by family and friends following health complications.

Oscar and Ellen Christensen received an early Christmas present, when she was born December 13, 1938 in Tremonton, UT. She was welcomed by two brothers, Gary and DeLoy with her dear sister Kayla arriving 20 years later.

Mable attended Bear River High and said "I do" to Ronald G. Kay on August 30, 1957 in Bothwell, UT. They settled in Tremonton with weekends spent at Bear Lake camping and fishing. She loved to garden, bake treats for everyone, visit with neighbors, and somehow turned her exercise routine into social hour with friends. She was the happiest being with her grandchildren; her five granddaughters were perfect in her eyes. Her world revolved around their activities and spending time together as a family.

Mable was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints and served diligently in many church callings in the Tremonton 6th ward.

For 16 years, many kids knew her as the lunch lady at Garland elementary or BR middle school. She loved working with the ladies and made lifelong friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Jenifer Scoffield son-in-law, Darrin Scoffield and five perfect granddaughters, Shannon and Annie Kay; Alexa, Madison and Taylor Scoffield. Brother, Gary (Connie) Christensen, sister, Kayla (Jim) Wayment and sister-in-law VaLouie Christensen Jones.

She was preceded in death by her son Bruce Kay, brother DeLoy Christensen and parents Oscar and Ellen Christensen.

Special thanks to AFI, Jordan Heiner; family, Mistie Mattinson and Janet Williams who showed such loving care to my mom.

Funeral Services for Mable will be held on Tuesday June 11, 2013 at 12:00 Noon in the Tremonton LDS Stake Center (660 North 300 East). Viewings will be held on Monday June 10, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 North 100 East) and from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. previous to the funeral at the church.
