She was born Oct. 7, 1925, in Ellis, the daughter of Jacob and Theresa Gnad Augustine. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to Saint Aloysius Catholic Church, Ransom.
In May 1947, she married Albert Flax in Ellis. He died Nov. 8, 1997.
Survivors include: four sons, Harold and wife, Glenda, Larned, David and wife, Nina, Osage City, Vernon and wife, Cinda, Arnold, and Bernard and wife, Emily, Wilmington, N.C.; two daughters, Patricia Kail and husband, Jerry, Sublette, and Bernice Barber and husband, Mark, Lindsborg; 12 grandchildren, Jeff and wife, Rhonda Flax, Adam Flax, Lianne, Daniel, and Scott Flax, Jessica Kail, Molly and husband, Joshua McDonald, Garrett and Morgan Flax, Ryan Barber, Katy and Caroline Flax; and three great-grandchildren, Lacie, Owen and Chad Fox.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Theresa; and a brother, Jerry Augustine.
Vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Saint Aloysius Catholic Church, Ransom. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with Fathers Henry Hildebrandt and David H. Kraus presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Burial will be in Saint Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Ransom.
Memorials may be sent to Sacred Heart School or to Saint Aloysius Cemetery, both in care of the funeral home.
