Anna Mauzy was the daughter of Greeley and Lydia Wolfe Mauzy of Rushville, Indiana. She was a graduate of Ohio Women’s College. Anna married Vernon Cole Patten (Patty Doc to his grandchildren) on October 11, 1924. Vern had lost his wife and the mother of his three children in 1921. Anna had been married previously but no children resulted from those marriages.
A tragic event resulted in the death of Anna in 1955. She was preparing breakfast and her dressing gown caught on fire. She suffered third degree burns and died three weeks later at the age of 76.
