Marguerite Louise Bradley Metcalf, 86, formerly of 35 Larchmont Road, Asheville, N.C., died Friday, May 11, 1990 in an Asheville health care center.

A native and resident of Buncombe County, N.C. for most of her life, she was a former resident of Mars Hill. She was a 1926 graduate of Mars Hill College and retired in 1970 from Schiffman Jewelry Store, where she was a bookkeeper. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late William Turner Bradley and Catherine Loduska Penland Bradley and wife of Emerson Charles Metcalf Sr., who died in 1983.

She was survived by a son, Emerson Charles Metcalf Jr. of Asheville, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Ira B. Jones of Asheville, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, 1990 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The Revs. James Johnson and Gordon Hux officiated. Burial was in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
