Allen Ballou
Word has been received of the death Thursday of Allen Ballou, 80, of Cannon[sic] City, Colorado, a former resident here. Complications followed surgery which Mr. Ballou underwent a few weeks ago.
Born in Florida (Mass.) he was the son of the late Irvine and Nettie (Kemp) Ballou. He attended school in Florida and Monroe but had lived in Colorado for many years where he was post master. He was a member of the Lodge of Masons.
Besides his wife, the former Edith Stowell of Putney, Vt., two daughters and grandchildren (number not known) of Colorado, he leaves a brother, Ralph Ballou of Monroe, three nephews, Harold Ballou of Sterling, Walter Ballou of North Adams, Richard of Monroe, a niece, Mrs. Helen Wager of Clarksburg and several grand nieces and nephews in the east.
Funeral to be held Monday.
