He was born at Marklesburg, April 11, 1863, and was a son of Robert and Mary Prough Hood. He was a well-known citizen of his community and loved by all his friends and neighbors. He was a member of the Hesston Alliance church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Rachel Russell Hood and the following children: Mrs. Carrie Fink, John H. Hood, Calvin Hood and Whitmer Hood.
Funeral service will be held at the Alliance church at Hesston Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. O.J. May with burial in Marklesburg cemetery by Mortician Huff at Saxton.
