Father: Jeremiah Shank of Montgomery County Ohio

Mother: Artemisia Chambers of Montgomery County Ohio; later known as Mrs. George Funderburgh, moved in with Anna in April 1897.

Married: Henry B. Mays 8.25.1863, minister was Abraham Dietrich

Son: John Mays, later of Columbus Ohio

Granddaughter: Mary Mays Coler (or Cler) of Dayton Ohio

Anna Shank Mays was a member of Rebecca Lodge No. 255 in Arcanum Ohio. She was an active member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, a member of the Methodist Church, a great reader, & did much writing later in life. There was an attic fire in Anna's home in November 1916. Anna had uterine cancer.

Enjoy Anna's Folk Art painting depicting a U.S. Sanitary Commission Hospital during the Civil War. It is purported that Anna was in the U.S. Sanitary Commission during the Civil War (more research needed)
