Myrtice Buchanan Moody, 85, of Warm Springs, died Thursday, Nov. 24 at the Warm Springs Medical Center. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Warm Springs City Cemetery with Dr. Bob Patterson, pastor of Warm Springs First Baptist Church, officiating.
Mrs. Moody was born Jan. 6, 1920 in Warm Springs, the daughter Ellie and Truitt Buchanan. She retired from the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation in 1985 and was an active and faithful member of Warm Springs First Baptist Church. Mrs. Moody was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Moody, Sr. and a son, Fred Moody, Jr.
Survivors include her son Robert Moody and his wife, Julie of Columbus; two granddaughters, Laura Moody of Atlanta and Joyce Leverett of Thomaston; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Mitchell of Opelika, AL and Mildred Brown of LaGrange, and a number of nieces and nephews.
