Douglas N. Smith, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away Feb. 19, 2002.

He was born Nov. 8, 1923 to Douglas N. and Margaret Grey Smith. His step-mother was Mary Gaisford Smith. He married Jeanne Timms on July 21, 1945.

They resided in Salt Lake City.

Doug enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling. He served in the Navy on the USS Boise during World War II for four years. He worked at Mountain Bell for 38 years and retired in 1983.

Survived by his wife Jeanne; sons: Robert (Ann), Randy (Sandy), Kevin (Vicki); 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, brother and sisters Margaret (Woody) Marshall, Owen (Delores) Gaisford, and Verna (Harry) Simpson. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Norma Johnson and brother George Gaisford.

Graveside service will be held Friday 1 p.m. at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 So. Vine Street. Friends may call Friday 12-12:45 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street.
