Prominent South-side Farmer Dies
Bert Delay, a well known farmer who lived on a farm three miles and a half south of Pryor, died yesterday evening at five o’clock, following a week’s illness resulting from a scratch on his hand which caused blood poison.
The accident happened a week ago yesterday, when Mr. Delay received a slight scratch from a rusty barbed wire. A short time afterward he became ill, and Dr. Mitchell was called but very little could be done for him. The report was out yesterday morning that Mr. Delay was dead, but he lingered until five o’clock yesterday afternoon.
The funeral will be held this afternoon at the Delay home, south of town, at two o’clock and the remains will be interred in the Fairview cemetery.
Mr. Delay was 51 years of age at the time of his death. He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn his departure. The sympathy of all is with the bereaved family in this time of sorrow.
