"Merrill Lee", as she was known, worked her whole adult life as a single divorced mother, since her child was a baby. She supported her parents and unemployed brother Ellison as well. At the Justice Department, she worked in the Credit Union, and soon became an enemy of J. Edgar Hoover, who she refered to as "that nasty little file clerk". After she left Justice she worked for the Marriotts at a small restaurant, called "the Hot Shoppe", they had in Washington DC. The Original Marriotts, parents, and grandparents of the current executives. She had studied banking at college, and late in life became the Vice President of the Vienna Trust Company in Mclean Va, Tysons Corner and Great Falls branches. (Hoover put an end to her government career, her scandelous divorce became public in Justice Department circles.)
A rare feat for a women, Mavis Cobb, one of the first few woman lawyers in Virginia. And Olga Gannon Warfield, the first WWII widow to buy a home on the GI bill, were dear friends. She was an elected Councilwoman for the City of Falls Church Va, Zonta member. Devoted to children with Cerbral Palsey, little did she know that she would have a
great grandson with autism, who is trained at UCP.

Dr Brescia was one of her doctors, later his son, Dr. Marc Brescia, would deliver her great grandson Graham Rockford.
