James Doctor
James Doctor, son of Elizabeth Bainbridge and Thomas Doctor, was born in Belleville, November 9, 1876, and departed this life March 14, 1939, at the age of 63 years, 4 months and 5 days.
He was married to Lou Moore Munger in 1895. To this union was born four daughters, three remain, while Ellen preceded him into the great beyond. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Leslie Acker, Mrs. Victor Hughes, both of California, and Mrs. Robert Douglas of Cedar Rapids, Ia., one brother and one sister; three grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
His life centered around his home and loved ones. He has been in active service of the Rock Island for 38 years, and was loved and respected by all its employees. He will be sadly missed by the community. Jim was a man among men.
The funeral was conducted from the Christian church by the pastor, the Rev. P.O. Davis, on Saturday afternoon, March 18, and interment was made in the Belleville cemetery.
