FORREST - The funerl of Gus A. Bachtold 98, Tulsa, Okla, a retired Forrest-Cropsey area farmer who died Friday will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Apostolic Christian Chruch, Forrest.
Church ministers will officate.
Burial will be in South Apostolic Christian Cemetery, near Strawn.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Culkin Funeral Home, Forrest, and an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
He was born March 24, 1877 at Schleitheim, Shaffhausen, Switzerland, a son of Samuel and Salome Pletcher Bachtold. He married Christina Kafer Nov. 27, 1901 at Pontiac. She died in June, 1948.
Surviving are five sons, Roy Bachtold and Elmer Bachtold both of Fairbury; Benjamin Bachtold, Chenoa; Herman Bachtold, Michigan City, Ind., and Walter Bachtold, Strawn; a daughter Mrs. Lawrence Geiger, Tulsa, Okla; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A son, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
